Mr Ash Soni is a Consultant Sports Surgeon with a high volume tertiary level practice focussing on complex soft tissue Knee pathology, Hip arthroscopic surgery & Hamstring injuries. Having served as Team physician for Division 1 Collegiate and Professional teams, including Pittsburgh Steelers (NFL), Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL), and Pittsburgh Ballet, he has extensive experience in providing the highest level of care to Professional and amateur sportsmen.
Mr Soni graduated in 2003 with honors. His surgical training started in London, following which he moved to Leeds for higher surgical training. After obtaining the FRCS, he spent one year at the best centres in Yorkshire acquiring skills in Knee arthroscopy and arthroplasty. Thereafter he was accepted onto a prestigious one year Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship program at the world-renowned University of Pittsburgh Center for Sports Medicine. He has been trained in the highest quality care for professional as well as amateur sportsmen and has mastered the advanced arthroscopy skills of Knee, Hip & Shoulder under the guidance of Dr Freddie Fu, Dr Christopher Harner and Dr James Bradley. He is not only the first British Orthopaedic Surgeon to complete this prestigious Fellowship but also won the “Best Graduating Fellow” award from the University of Pittsburgh.
Mr Soni is an award-winning researcher and innovator. He has developed surgical techniques and frequently delivers expert lectures internationally. He has numerous peer-reviewed publications and his research has been presented at various national & international meetings. He has also authored numerous book chapters related to sports injuries and is a reviewer for AJSM & KSSTA journals. His research focuses on the relationship of patient related outcomes & kinematics after Arthroscopic ACL reconstruction and outcomes post revision meniscal repairs. He is a keen educator and leads the Orthopaedic teaching program at Homerton Hospital.
Outside of work, Mr Soni enjoys outdoors activities and is a keen racquet player. He likes to keep fit with regular weight and high intensity training. He is a family man and loves spending time with his family.
